The Voice of the Helpless Soul

Jade was walking along the open path with few trees to shade her from the harsh heat. She saw a rock in the distance. She thought ," Maybe I can rest there." When she came upon this rock she thought she heard a voice. It seemed to be saying," HELP!" It was not a humane voice. Who or What could it be?

Veronica was not too far away, gripping the package in her arms.

She was behind the large rock, as she was too paranoid to open the package in her home.

She carefully pulled away the paper to reveal...

...Nothing but a pile of rocks.

Her jaw dropped. She stared for a long time, trying to piece together what had happened. Her pale face grew red, and her already black eyes darkened with fury.

She threw the package and all of it's worthless contents onto the ground.

"That little worm" she fumed, clenching er fists in attempt to control her rage.

''He cheated me!"

She screamed in anger, and fell to her knees, on the brink of hysteria.

While all this was going on, Jade was watching this mysterious girl.

When she opened th package, Jade saw the name of the girl

VERONICA

When Veronica scrame, Jade jumped from behind the rock.

When she did that she knew she had been discovered.

Questions popped into her mind

What is she going to do?

Veronica hadn't spotted her yet.

She kisked at the grass like a caged animal/

When Jade realized she hadn't spotted her yet, she ran off hoping she didn't hear her footsteps. Suddenly she fell into a pit. Not knowing what to do, she scrame hoping Veronica would hear her. All she could do was wait....

Veronica picked up her black frame of a parasol, and walked onward, not the slightest trace of emotion on her face.

She heard a voice and looked down at Staci.

"What?"

my name isn't staci! gosh!



"Help me please!" Jade yelled.

Oops Anyway...

"With what?"

" What does it look like I need help with? I'm in a pit!", Jade yelped."Well are you going to help me out or aren't you?"

Jade waited for the reply....

Veronica got on her knees and reached her hand into the pit.

Confused by her generosity, she reached out to her hand and grabbed it.

Once she was out she thanked her.

Jade said , "I'm Jade Hylrue."

Veronica nodded.

"Okay," she said, picking up her parasol and arranging her skirts.

"That usually is a signal for you to infer to tell me your name too," Jade said intelectually.

Veronica smiled.

"That made no sense, but my name is Veronica."

Her hand shivering with fear she said," Pleased to meet you." Although she wasn't really pleased she didn'y want to be rude.

Veronica nodded.

"I was just on my way to...handle...some things..." she said, not wanting to tell Jade what she was going home to do.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Jade said not actually intending to want to help.

Veronica smiled.
"That would be nice." she said.
