Helping Veronica

Veronica walked into her house, and beckoned Jade to come inside. Isolde was waiting for Veronica in the foyer.

"Oh, so you brought her again, did you?" Isolde scoffed.
Veronica frowned.

"Please be nice, Isolde."

Scared, Jade didn't know what to do.

"Nice to meet you Isolde....," Jade said trying her best to make good of this bad situation.

"What do you need help with Verinica?" Jade inquired.

Isolde led Veronica and Jade down to the basement, and lit the candles so they could see.

There, on a stone table, was something covered with a sheet.

"What's under that?" Jade said piointing to the thing under the sheet.

Isolde pulled back the sheet to reveal a person.

A dead person.

"Ahhhhhhhh!"

"What do you want me to do with **gulp** that!?" Jade yelled.

Isolde smirked.

"Hand me the scapel and leave the room."

Veronica smiled.
" You see, we have o embalm her.

Jade made a "thats so sick i think i'm gonna faint" face.

"Excuse me?!We're going to do what to her?!"Jade asked profusely.

(i have no idea what "profusely" is but it sounds kool)

Isolde smiled.

"Well, see, her family is paying us to embalm her. Y'know, get her ready for burial?"

"You mean I have t touch a DEAD person! I don't even like touching live people!" Jade yelped.

Veronica smiled.
"Well, you don't have to help."

Isolde laughed.

"...Pansy..." she said under her breath, as she glanced at Jade.

(what's pansy mean?lol!)

"Unless you're absolutely out of people to help you I'd rather not. And I heard that!"Jade said solemnly.

(Woosey. It means Woosey)

Veronica smiled gently.

"We can do it without you. We do all the time!" she said, like it was not big deal they were about to cut a dead person up

Isolde lifted teh scapel...

"Last chance to get out of the room before it gets ugly." Isolde said, holding the scapel dangerously close to Jade's Face. But she would not harm Jade. She was a pro with this kind of stuff.

"Don't worry, I'm out of here."Jade said hurriedly.


"I suppose I will see you tomorrow. Have a nice time cutting up dead people,"Jade said pessimistically.

Veronica smiled.

"Wait! Just wait in the foyer, this will only take a little while." Veronca said.

Isolde shrugged.

"Yeah. You can stay." she said, fingering the scapel.

"Okay," Jade said cautiously eying the scapel.

When she was in the foyer she noticed many things: both ordinary and mysterious.

She eased toward one particular painting that had caught her eye when she first entered Verinica's home. As she eased toward it, a noise disturbed her. What was it?

It was coming from upstairs, but she dared not go up there. But one day she would know what it was.....one day.

A long time later, Veronica and Isolde came back up. They had already washed up.

Isolde smirked.
"Don't go down there."

"You can trust me about that." Jade replied.



"What is that noise coming from upstairs?" Jade asked.

"Veronica. She's trying to learn to play the piano...but...erm...she's not exactly the best?"

"Who is? And thatt's a piano? It sounds like something dying."Jade asked puzzled.

I know." Isolde said flatly.
