Gerudo Fortress

"Well, our king isn't exactly the sharpest scaver in the chest, if you know what I mean."Iza said piling the hay in one corner.

"Now do I get something to eat? I'm very hungry."Iza stated.

Naomi laughed.
"I agree. He isn't too bright."

Vena tossed some stale bread at Iza.
"Here. Enjoy."

Iza looked at it this way and that. She tapped it on the floor and peices of it broke off. "Gee, thanks for your generosity."Iza said as she tosed the bread to the other side if the room and layed down on the hay and fell fast asleep.

when she woke up, the guards on shift were Kami and Jasmin. She was awakened by Kami's laughter. She rustled around until she was touching the cold, concrete floor.

Kami giggled some more.
"And then, he asked me to meet him in the alley and I told him 'When cuccos fly!' and his face just turned this awful shade of red!" she laughed.

Jasmine smiled politely,
"And what did he say?"

She wiped a tear from her eye and gave another giggle.
"He told me I was nothing bu a worthless street-dweller, and I told him at least my home was more classier than his, no doubt.'

Jasmine nodded, and her eyes took on a cold stare.
"Oh, SHE'S awake." she said coldly, glancing at Iza

"Well yeah, who could sleep with her giggling all night? And besides, I'm cold, hungry, thirsty, and VERY uncomfortable. Can I at least have some food that is edible and a drink that won't poison me?"Iza asked politely as if that might enhance her possibilities on that decision.

Jasmine sighed, and thrust a dish of water at her silently.

Kami threw her a odd-looking fruit, that looked like it had seen better days. But at least it was softer than the cell wall.

"There." Kami said, voice upbeat as always.

Iza stared at the strange fruit like it had no purpose whatsoever. She crawled toward the fruit, picked it up, and started eating it. It had a strange, tangy taste to it, so it must have come somewhere from the jungle Iza assumed.

Iza turne and looked at the water dish that had "mosquito infested" written all over it, so Iza relied on the juice from the fruit as her source of liquid.

Jasmine sat on a stool, eyeing Iza with a cold gaze.
"Naomi was right. We should have just left you." she said.

Kami sighed.
"It'll be okay, Jasmine. Celeste will decide what to do with her tomorrow."

She yawned.
"Only about half an hour before Aveil and Ashei take over watch."

She shook her head.
"If you thought Naomi and Vena were bad...gee..."

"Uhhhh, what do you mean 'If you thought they were bad..gee...'?"Iza asked with a puzzled look on her face.

Jasmine looked up.
"Well, let's just say that me and Kami? We're the easy shift."

Kami nodded.
"And you'll be begging for Naomi and Vena when Aveil and Ashei are done with you. You angered Aveil, and she doesn't take having he honor spat upon lightly."

"Well, she'll just ave to get over herself. I'm not afraid of her, she is just another person on the highway of acquaintances."Iza finished the strange fruit and went to sleep in the corner of the cell.

When she awoke, as Kami had predicted, Aveil and Ashei had taken over the guarding shift. She tried as much as she could not to make a sound as she stirred to find a more comfortable position in the dungeon.

Ashei looked over, and nodded in her direction.

"Well, well, well." Aveil said, "If it isn't the little snot-nosed weakling, awake and huddling in her corner."

Iza, try as she may, can never keep her mouth shut when insulted.
"Like you are any better sitting outside a jail cell doing nothing. At least I have a reason for sitting around in one place all day, but you don't. That's kind of sad."Iza said as she threw a sleepy glare at Aveil.

Aveil laughed.
"I do so at the order of my queen. You had better her thank her tomorrow. If not for her, you would have been dead by my hands on the spot."

Iza hung her head at that.
"I express my grattitude," she said sarcastically,"but when will I be judged so I can leave or die already?"

"Tomorrow. At dawn." Ashei said. And it was the last she said for the rest of the night.

Iz was pleased at the silence, it gave her time to think about all that dismayed her. Her past, the present, and what could possibly be in her future.

She was startled at the sound of the steel door opening. The guards carried her down to where she had been captured, and where the meeting was taking place.

Celeste glanced at her.
"Ah, here comes the one in question." she said, and the room fell silent.

Aveil was seated next to Celeste, and the other girls that had watched Iza throught the night in a semi-circle around the two leaders.

Naomi mumbled something about cutting out Iza's tongue, and Jasmine just stood there, glowering at Iza.

Celeste stiood.
"After much deliberation, it had been decided to let the girl go."
Several murmers of protest buzzed through the air.

"With a warning to her king. Tell him that if another comes to our lands...they wont' be so lucky as you."

"Alrighty then, queeny. Lemme go and I'll tell him that. Is that ok with you?"Iza said throwing Celeste a glare.

A spasm of anger crossed Aveil's face.

"Once again, Celeste, if you but say the word, I'll have her dead."

Celeste, her calm temper (an unlikely trait in Gerudo, no dount) being what won her the throne in the first place, smiled.

"No, Aveil. But I do wish one of my advisors to be her escort." she said.

"Any takers?" Aveil asked.

Iza rolled her eyes at the stupidity that surrounded her.
"There will be no trouble for me to leave, honest. I want out of here."

Iza looked around and saw the grim faces of all the girls that had been there, glaring down at her.

They all had their swords drawn, ready to kill if Celeste so much as nodded her head.

But she didn't.

"Jasmine." she said calmly. "You are to escort this woman to her king. And then, you are to return to me with his answer. Tell him also that I do not take being snubbed kindly, especially when I travelled from so far to negotiate with him."

Jasmine, though her eyes filled with anguish, nodded dutifully. Holding Iza at swordpoint, she led ehr out into the desert heat, amid the jeers and insults of the other young warrior women.

Celeste walked near the fortress, Valcarion behind her, and her theives at her side.
