Surviving the Test of Time

Isolde held the ancient map in her hands, and navigated her way through the caves.

Veronica spotted a door in the darkness, and ran to it. She ran her fingers on it.
"It feels like ancient writing!"

(once again....corny!lol!haha!)


"Wow! Can either of you decipher it?"Jade asked quizzically.

Veronica studied it.

"It says the same thing the map did."

"Well then, I guess it's in there."

"So, who wants to go into the dark, deadly cave first?" Jade asked stepping back.

Isolde raised a hand.
"ME!"

She stepped inside, and looked about. She was in a large, open foyer, with marble flooring. There were three doors, a red one, a blue one and a green one.

There was a symbol above each of them.

" Which one do we go in? What are those strange ritings on the wall?"

"Maybe they have something to do with which one we go in!"Jade exclaimed.

Isolde gave her a look.
"No der!"

Veronica studied the map.
"The writing said we had to pass a test of courage, wisdom, and power..."

Veronica walked past the doors, and the one with the blue symbol lit up.
"I guess this is my door...the symbol says Wisdom..."

The red one lit up an Isolde's touch.
"And this one was meant for me...Power..."

"Wonder which one's for me?" Jade asked sarcastically.

"So what do we do in them?"

Isolde placed her palm on the door and it opened.

"Guess we'll find out!" she said, stepping inside.

Veronica walked inside the blue door, and it shut behind her.

Jade took a deep breath and stepped inside.

The next thing she knew she was in a room with Isolde and Veronica.

"That's weird." Jade said.

She walked over towards Isolde, but when she was 3 feet away, something stopped her.

There seemed to be some force stopping her.

"What in the world?!"Jade yelled.

Isolde smiled.

"Well, see you guys1" she said, walking away from the invisible barrier and onto a platform that descended into a room full of lava.

"See ya."Jade said stepping onto a platform ascending to a room of ice.

Automatically, the room changed to plants everywhere, then to ice, then to water.

"What the-?"

Isolde looked down, and the floor began to crumble away...

She ran, then jumped onto a ledge.

As Jade ascended the room got very cold.

"Bbbbb-rrrrrrrrrr!"JAde shook.

Jade started sliding around on the ice, trying to regain her balance.

She saw a key in a piece of ice.

"That must be what I'm looking for."Jade yelled.

Isolde jumped and grabbed a rope, and watched as the ground beneath her turned to lava.

"OH MY GOSH!" she said, remembering...

''Din was for Fire, and Power...so Jade is surving the Farore test, which is for Earth and Courage...and Veronica is in Nayru's chamber for Wisdom and Water...we have to survive their tests..."

Veronica looked at all of the water...

She jumped in and began to swim...she swam and swam until she was sure she had gone a mile, then looked behind her, and saw that she had moved baout two feet...

"Oh my gosh..." was all she could say.

Veronica sat on the shore...she looked at her destination, a door on the other side of the great body of water....and yet every time she touched the waterm she didn't move.

Suddenly everything around Jade had turned from ice to Earth.

She had claws hanging in a pouch when she looked down.

"What are these for?"Jade said studying them.

"They must be for me to dig with."

Jade began digging. She got deeper and deeper until -clang-....she hit some thing.

It was a box that had a key inside.

She had to do something.

Isolde saw another rope...she swung her body, and releaed. She sailed through the air, and gripped the other rope in her hands. She then leapt onto a ledge that held a key.

Veronica looked down into the water, and dove. She pulled at the chest she had seen, and brought it to the shore. She opened it, revealing a key..

"Now to get to the door..."

Jade started digging all around the chest, looking for something to open it with.

She ran into something. It was another key.

She used it to open the chest. When it opened it revesaled another key.

She stood up and looked around her for a door.

There it was. A few steps behind the dirt. She dug towards it and opened it...........

Isolde swung, and made it to the ledge with the door. She unlocked it, and it shut behind her, just before the room flooded with lava.

SHe was in a large, white room. SHe saw Jade and ran to her.

"Hey, so you made it! Wqhat did you have to do? And where is Veronica?"

Veronica walked along the shore, untl she saw a single purple shell. She stepped over it and into the water...and didn't fall...she was stanfing on some sort of forcefield that kept her from sinking...

She felt ahead of her with he foot, and found a place to stand. She continued that way, until she came to the door. She opened it, and rant to Jade and Isolde.

"There she is! What did you two ha-.."Jade stopped.

Jade stood there in awe of what she saw.

She slowly pointed behind Isolde and Veronica, her eyes wide with fear.

A giant hole was forming in the ground, and spreading. All three fell into pitch blackness. Veroinca and Isodle could see perfectly, and they looked about them. There, on a pedestal were three jewels, each with a symbol beneath them.

"Where are we?!? I can't see!"Jade said as she grabbed ahold of one of them.

"Do you see anything?"Jade asked.

"Yeah..." Isolde whispered. The gems began to glow.

Veronica began to read the ancient writing.

'Long, long ago, a dark power crept into the land of Hyrule, and took control of the sacred Triforce. Using it for his own dark desires, he turned the grass red with bloodshed and the sky black with suffering. Just when all hope was lost, and the people were sure they were doomed...A young man clothed in green came forth. Weilding the Blade of Evil's Bane, he cast the Dark One into the Sacred Land, and gave the Land of Hyrule hope.

Many ages passed, and the Hero of Time was thought to be merely a legend.

Until a day came when the dark one broke the seal in the Sacred Realm, and spreat darkness across the land once more.

NOw, in their time of great need, the people beleived the Hero of Time would once again come forth to save them...

But the Hero did not appear...

The Kigdom was lost, and in her final hours, the final Princess Zelda hid the Sacred Stones in a temple, hoping that one day, someone would come, and learn from the kingdom's loss...'

(I used the Wind Waker legend, and altered it a bit...)
