Another Day in the Village

Veronica walked noislessly down the street, no trace of emotion on her face. Her black hair hung about her shoulders, and she obtained many a strange look as she continued on her procession.

Jade walked aimlessly through the mumbling crowd of people. Out of nowhere some force came upon her. there infront of her stood.....

Veronica looked at the girl she'd just bumped into.

She didn't say a word, but rather, stepped around her, and continued on her way...

(sorry, My cahr is kind of a recluse)

When Jade saw what had just happened, she began to follow the girl, not jknowing whjat she had gotten herself into.......

Veroncia dodged the stares people gave her.
SHe scowled.
She hated people/

She walked up to a stand, through some money on the counter, and got some fruit.

SHe whipped around, and as she did, she came face to face with the same girl.

"What?"

Jade just stared at the girl she had bumped into, moreover, bumped into her. She didn't say a word but passed around her. As the strange recluse began to wlk on, Jade realized that the trail she was following led to the caves.

Veronica stormed out of the village, her purchase in her grasp.

She walked toward the forest.

Jade realized the path had been switched. She was now headed toward the forest. The foret got darher and denser the farther they went. She saw all kinds of creatures she had never seen before.

Veronica walked deeper, until she approached a large, old Victorian house, with green gray fog swirling around it, and dead trees everywhere.

A graveyard was just behind the house.

Jade flinched when she smelled the stench of rotting, old trees and corpses. She knew what was outside of the house was scary, but what of the inside?

Veronica stepped inside the house.

Jade knew she had to do something. She couldn't just bardge in there with her. What could she do? It came to her! She knew what to do!

Veronica set her package down, and walked through a corridor in to her bedroom.

"What could be in that package,"Jade thought to herself,"that she would go all the way into town to get it?" She slipped into the door that the girl left open and grabbed the package. She began to shake the package,listen to the package. She was doing by whatever means necessary to find out what was in the package. Suddenly the girl appeared at the door.

Veronica's voice cam across cold a clear.

"Just what do you think you are doing?"

"Uhhhhhhhhh.......", Jade began stuttering trying to make up an excuse, But nothing could come out! Finally the girl did what no one would ever expect.........

Veronica stood silently.

"Well? I didn't stutter. What do you want?" she demanded, snatching the package back from her.

"And I believe that belongs to me, if I am not mistaken?"

" I am very sorry. Do you live here?", Jade asked unsure of what she had gotten herself into. When she asked that she quickly said," I must go," and trampled off into the woods looking at every tree adnd mushroom and vine as if they were going to come to life any moment and take her away.

When she got home she realized what had just happened to her. She knew that the girl might come back. What would she do if she did? Lying in bed, her questioning mind drifted off into a silent slumber , unknowing of what might happen in the near future.

Veronica slumped into a chair.

"I hate people." she said.

"And why is that?" a voice asked.
Isolde dropped in from teh ceiling.

"Well, I don't hate you."

"Oh, so I am not a person."

Veronica did not laugh at the joke.

The next day, Jade got up,got dressed, and brushed her hair.

When she left to town, She wanted to go to the girls house again.

After she got what she needed and took it to her house, she headed to that house.

When she got there, there was a most unpleasant feeling.

She knocked on the door....waiting.....

Veronica came to the door.

She gave a death glare.
"What do you want?"

Suddenly Jade had cold chills down her spine. Nothing could come out of her mouth except," Hi." She said," May I come in?"

"Yeah." she said.

Isolde blocked the door.
"What do you want?" she said suspiciously.

Veronica sighed.

"It's okay, Isolde."

Isolde stepped back.

With a " what in the world" stare, Jade walked in keeping an eye on Isolde.

"I'm very sorry about what I did yesterday," Jade said breaking the long silence.

"Your house is......beautiful," Jade didn't know what to say.

Isolde watched Jade.

"I've known Veronica since we were small children. I protect her. She has a bad habit of being to kind for her own good." Isolde said.
